About Us:
Hunter & Michaels (H&M) was founded in 1991 as a single person office and has grown to a team of 4 search specialists devoted to placing talent in the consumer package goods industry. Our core business is placing talent with manufactures that sell food, hbc, general merchandise to the mass, club, food, drug and convenience channels of trade. H&M is networked with scores of independent offices that allow us to identify both opportunities and talent nationwide.

H&M uses a 3 step approach to the recruiting process:

- First, the company utilizes our comprehensive database. We continually update our files daily with sales and marketing managers that we have sourced.

- Secondly, we source candidates through our business development calls, memberships in professional organizations, trade shows referrals and search assignments.

- Thirdly, H&M is associated with numerous search specialists nationally. This association allows us to have access to thousands of qualified cpg managers. One call to us and we can attract the most qualified candidates anywhere in the country.

PROFILES:

Ray Smuland:
Ray founded Hunter & Michaels after 11 successful years of recruiting for Sales Consultants (Division of Management Recruiters International). In his tenure with S.C., he achieved national pacesetter every year. Five times he was awarded Regional Account Executive of the year. Ray was recognized three times as the S.C. National Top Ten Producer and a member of the MRI Hall of Fame. Ray was awarded CPC status in 1982 (status certification from the National Association of Personnel Services) He has over 20 years of successful recruiting in the cpg industry; the last 10 years as President of H&M.

Alan Danforth:
Alan specializes in marketing and sales . Alan joined Hunter & Michaels in 1999. Prior to joining H&M Alan spent 21 successful years with 2 major consumer package goods companies. He spent almost 11 years with Pillsbury (Haagen Dazs) holding increasing roles of responsibility, Region Manager, National Account Manager and Division Manager. Prior to his tenure with Haagen Dazs Alan was with Coca Cola (Minute Maid) for 8 years holding 5 different positions. He has managed both a direct and broker sales forces . Alan brings a rich experience of recruiting, hiring, training, and managing cpg managers.

Jim Strachan:
Jim specializes in sales and marketing in the hard goods arena. Prior to joining Hunter & Michaels, Jim built a successful career in both the retail and cpg Industry. Jim begain his retail career with Kroger where he had 3 assignments of increasing responsibility. In 1990 Jim joined the Haagen Dazs company. While at Haagen Dazs he held 5 positions ranging from operations to sales and sales management. He was responsible for recruiting, hiring, training and developing sales forces in the Dallas Metroplex. In serving our clients, Jim draws upon his twenty years of retail and package goods experience to help make the successful match.

Jason Smuland:
Jason is a specialist in recruiting for manufactures who have needs calling on Wal-Mart and Sam's Club. He places people at various levels of responsibility: Team leader, National Account Manager, Category Manager, Category Analyst, Replenishment Analyst, Retail link analyst, co-managed.
